Salary: A minimum starting salary of $46,118 (18A) and a comprehensive and competitive fringe benefit package are provided.

Delaware County Community College, a competency-based institution, committed to diversity invites applications for an Assistant Director, Dual Enrollment & High School Initiatives in our Admissions & Enrollment Services department.

The Assistant Director, Dual Enrollment & High School Initiatives provides leadership in establishing relationships with high school students to encourage and promote career exploration and enrollment in college with the goal of program completion. The individual will plan and implement outreach services and dual enrollment opportunities as a part of an agreement and partnership with designated high schools in Delaware County Community College’s service area, working from these high schools as a complement to their guidance services. The individual will also enhance Financial Aid understanding and help students coordinate road maps toward success.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to facilitating and supporting college attainment, career exploration and financial aid understanding to high school students; enhances services that may be available through high school, college or the community including college exploration services, admission processes, financial aid and scholarship resources, course selection and advising; works closely with high school counselors for referrals and creation of appointment scheduling for student population; promotes students’ understanding of career pathways and education and training needed to pursue their goals; coordinates administration of the College’s college placement tests; demonstrates the use and value of Career Coach as a tool for students to gain awareness of career opportunities; provides information on job market statistics to help students make informed decisions about life after high school; assists in successful transition of students from high school to post-secondary education by connecting them with the appropriate college admission and financial aid personnel; arranges availability to meet with parents and students to discuss next steps; Serves as the liaison between Delaware County Community College’s Dual Enrollment and High School Initiative Office and the high school; develops a recruitment plan for assigned target populations to attract students to the Dual Enrollment program; develops and delivers workshops that enhance student awareness of careers and educational opportunities; Provides timely responses to prospective students, parents and other interested parties concerning the programs and services of Dual Enrollment and Delaware County Community College; responses include e-mail, telephone and in-person contacts; seeks and uses data to monitor effectiveness; measure outcomes; and adapt process, procedures, and activities accordingly; assists the Director of Dual Enrollment in providing data and outcomes to both the College and our high school partners; uses technology as appropriate to perform responsibilities and develop customer/student relationships; attends departmental staff meetings; performs other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred; Must possess insured automobile and valid driver’s license; Some evening and weekend hours are required with this position; travel is required; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, written and verbal; Ability to relate to various populations including high school students, parents, faculty and other College personnel; Ability to meet with and speak to individuals and groups; Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; Student-centered; strong customer service, commitment to completion; Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, strong organization skills; Must enjoy working with a diverse student body; Ability to establish relationships with high school counselors and to represent the College in public settings; Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Spanish fluency required in addition to English.
