The successful candidate must obtain all background clearances as may be required by Pennsylvania Act 153.


The Learning Commons (LC) provides library, technology and tutoring services to Delaware County Community College students.  This position’s primary responsibility is to provide general customer services assistance including information and referral, preliminary reference, circulation, and technology services with a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Primary duties will include but not limited to assisting students with preliminary reference, technology, and informational questions; answering telephones and providing routine information or refers and transfers call; check-in and check-out library materials and technological equipment at the circulation desk using an automated circulation system; shelving materials according to Library of Congress circulation system; helping patrons locate library materials; ensuring accurate library shelving by shelf-reading; troubleshooting Learning Commons equipment; enforce Learning Commons policies and procedures; work on special projects and performing other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred; one year library experience preferred; good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; basic technology skills; ability to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively; commitment to and support of a diverse community.
