The Administrative Assistant is the point of entry to the college for students, staff, faculty, visitors and callers. It is important that the person at this desk convey a professional demeanor; be cheerful and helpful. It is important to address the needs of the ‘customer’ quickly and accurately and keep the area accessible to others. Provide clerical support to Instructional and Student Services (and the non-credit division) in Delaware County at the Upper Darby Center, working collaboratively with all members of the administrative, faculty and support staff team. Provide quality customer service reflecting the culture and mission of DCCC and the Branch Campus Operations.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to using the College’s Banner system to process applications and registration for new and returning students; print schedules; process change of name/address for students; process CAPPs and unofficial transcripts; generate class lists; receive phone calls and process all inquiries; maintain neat/orderly and updated materials in lobby; process requests for information and assist students, faculty, callers and visitors; provide support at Open Registration; assist Student Services staff with scheduling, class cancellations, first week of class and finals week activities; provide clerical and secretarial support for Administrative and instructional areas as needed; post canceled classes and disseminate information to students as requested by faculty; assist with duplicating as needed; assist with co-curricular activities; be knowledgeable of the College’s programs and services to assist students in achieving their needs; secures and maintains perform any other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Behavioral Science, Communication, Business or a related field preferred; minimum of two years of experience in an office setting, academic setting experience preferred; excellent writing and oral communication skills; strong analytical skills; computer proficiency in MS Office, Groupwise and Banner; the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of College personnel, students and outside individuals and organizations.
