Please allow me to introduce myself. I specialize in both generalist college counseling and career counseling issues of adults ages 18 to 80 and beyond. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Nationally Certified Career Counselor. Recently, I obtained the credential "Board Certified Coach" from the National Board for Certified Counselors. My philosophy of career and personal counseling is to become a creative problem solver with the student/client. My role is to structure the counseling experience and to provide appropriate resources and referrals as needed. I believe that the relationship that I have with each student/client is of primary importance. It is my role to listen well and to focus my energies on the issues at hand with the goal of helping each person move step by step on the journey toward his or her own personal goals.

    Academic Biography

Because of all my years of service at Delaware County Community College, I know a great deal about the programs and services that the college has to offer. I have been an academic advisor, a career counselor, and a personal counselor. I am a "Safe Space" LGBT ally. Groups that I have developed and facilitated include Career Adjustment Workshop, Working Smart in Tough Times, Career Re-Design at Age 50+, Career Directions for Women, and most recently, Navigating Your Career in Challenging Times. During the late 90s, I was a guest on the Dan Gottlieb Show, Voices in the Family, on NPR addressing the topic of "Career Change at Age 50+." I have also taught Career Development to graduate students in the Counseling Department at West Chester University and have supervised over 30 graduate counseling students who have completed their internships at the college. In addition, I have supervised 3 counselors during their application for Professional Licensure in Pennsylvania. I am a member of the Mid-Atlantic Career Counselors Association and of the Association for Psychological Type International. Prior to studying college counseling, I obtained a Master's degree in Theatre Arts from the Pennsylvania State University.
