Institute for Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness

The Institute for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness at Delaware County Community College provides seminars, workshops, conferences, certificate programs and education to the response community, government agencies, private businesses, transportation entities, utilities and the community at large to create awareness of the protocols and practices required to mitigate problems that may arise as a result of man-made or natural disasters. Our broad-based curriculum is appropriate for the majority of workers and professionals across industries, and can include, but is not limited to, government officials, office managers, private business operatives, managers and workers, transportation and utility providers, school administrators, and interested individuals. Our certificate programs are also appropriate for security and emergency professionals including police and fire personnel and emergency medical service providers.

The Institute functions under the direction of an oversight board comprised of professionals from police, fire and medical occupations as well as representation from business and industry, County Emergency Services and the Local Emergency Planning Committees (members listed on the left).
